Smoke it. Don't just Grill it.
Your Gas Grill. Smokehouse Flavour.

"Exceptional quality, easy to set up & use. I'm smoking everything on my gas grill now. Brisket, steak, cheese..... I even made my own bacon which was incredible."
Shane W. USA

Your Hooded Gas Grill can do so much more.

A standard outdoor hooded grill is built to cook - not smoke. Mounting a Smokai® Smoke Generator to your hooded BBQ turns an ordinary grill into a serious flavour machine. Think low & slow ribs, deep smoke rings, hours of smoke and access to the cold-smoked world most dedicated smokers can’t even touch. Fresh, controlled smoke. No flare-ups. No buying a whole new smoker. Just smooth, rich, Smokai® flavour.

YOUR HOODED GRILL AND SMOKAI

More capability than a dedicated smoker.

Temperature Control

Low & Slow or a quick smoke. Dial in a fresh wood fired smoke and use your grill elements to control the heat - no guess work.

Enter the World of Cold Smoking

Smoke salmon, cheese, bacon, butter, salt and much much more.
Better than store bought - made by you. No heat required.

Controlled Smoking for Hours

Set the smoke volume to suit your food and taste — from light and delicate to rich and heavy. Up to 12-32* hours of Smoking Time on a full hopper load depending on the Smoke Generator model and wood.

Use It Beyond Your Grill

Move your Smokai between compatible setups, including BBQs, smokers, smokehouses and DIY conversions.

THREE MOUNTING OPTIONS

Every Hooded Grill is different. Here’s how Smokai can fit yours.

These options cover almost every traditional Hooded Grill design. Choose the mounting method that best suits your Hooded Grill.

1. Rotisserie Bracket Mount

Best for compatible grills with a standard vertical rotisserie motor bracket.

  • Attaches to a Grill Rotisserie Motor Bracket
  • No drilling.
  • Rotisserie cannot be used while smoking.
  • Compatibility checks required.
  • Smokai 1L Classic Smoke Generator only.
2. Side Shelf Mount

The flat base rests on the side shelf allowing you to mount and pack away fast.

  • Smoke Generator sits on side-shelf.
  • Requires one drilled hole.
  • Rotisserie can still be used.
  • No adaptor required.
  • Works with all Smokai Smoke Generator sizes.
3. Grill Housing Mount

The most universally adopted Hooded Grill mounting method.

  • Smoke Generator is attached to the grill housing.
  • Requires drilling.
  • Rotisserie can still be used.
  • No adaptor required.
  • Works with all Smokai Smoke Generator sizes.

OPTION 1:

Mount to your Grill's Rotisserie Motor Bracket

This is the cleanest, fastest and most convenient way to mount a Smokai to your traditional Hooded Grill — but it only works on grills that meet a few simple compatibility checks.

What you’ll need to check:
  • Your Hooded Grill has a vertical rotisserie motor bracket.
  • Bracket width: 75mm (3").
  • Distance from bracket face to Grill body <= 70mm
  • Minimum hole of 20mm diameter entering the Grill body with hood closed.
How it works:

With the adapter attached to your 1L CLassic Smoke Generator, the Smoke Generator just slides only the grills rotisserie bracket, holding it securely while delivering smoke into your grill. No drilling required.

OPTION 2:

Side Shelf Mount

A simple, practical option that works with all Smokai models. The flat base allows the Smoke Generator to rest on the side shelf allowing you to mount and pack away with ease.

What you’ll need:
  • Ability to drill a 20-25mm hole for your Smoke Generator’s outlet tube to pass into the grill.
  • Ensure your hood will clear the outlet tube when closed.
  • Your preferred Smokai Smoke Generator.
How it works:

You drill the hole into the side of your hood at a height to receive the smoke outlet tube (this won't affect the performance of your grill).
To take off, you can simply pull it away from your grill.

OPTION 3:

Grill Housing Mount

This is the most universally adopted mounting option and works with all Smokai models. Does not require an adapter.

What you’ll need:
  • Ability to drill the correct hole size for your Smoke Generator’s outlet tube
  • Access to the grill’s side panel for mounting.
  • Your preferred Smokai Smoke Generator
  • Hardware supplied with your Smokai (bolts, washers, wing nuts)
How it works:

You drill the mounting hole, insert the smoke outlet tube, and use the Smoke Generator’s
bottom bracket and hardware to secure the Smoke Generator firmly to the side of your grill.
To take off, you can simply remove the wing nuts or leave the bottom bracket in place and
remove the outlet tube and hopper.
