What is Proposition 65?

Proposition 65 is the result of a law passed in California in 1986, referred to as the California Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, or more generally referred to as "Proposition 65" or "Prop 65" for short.

By law, the State of California requires the Proposition 65 warning to be present on any product packaging when the products may contain one or more of the hundreds of chemicals listed in the Proposition 65 database.

What chemicals do Smokai Products contain?

Smoke Generators: Wood, wood dust and wood particles, combustion by products such as smoke and carbon monoxide which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Smoke Generators powered by cordless air pump: Lithium-ion batteries and products that contain lithium-ion batteries include lithium nickel oxide, and nickel, which are known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Why do you have this warning on products which are sold outside of California?

We take a global approach to our packaging design, hence you will see the Prop 65 warning on relevant products, even if you purchased the products outside of California / USA.
